About Jonathan
Jonathan Baruch is the founding partner at Rain Management Group. He grew up in Long Island, New York and moved to Los Angeles after graduating from the University of Michigan. After a stint in the mailroom at ICM – where he was able to make key friendships and business relationships – Jonathan built his own successful management company representing actors, writers, directors and packaging movies and TV shows. After several prosperous years on his own, Jonathan joined Michael Ovitz’s Artist Management Group (AMG) where he became one of the company’s early employees. After AMG merged with The Firm, Jonathan realized he wanted to build something on his own and started RAIN from a green club chair in his garage. His happy places are Tel Aviv, Park City Utah, and any Broadway theater. He is an avid rider of his Peloton bike, an accomplished (retired) martial artist, collector of vintage photographs, loves to cook anything that includes porcini mushrooms, and loves Labrador retrievers. Over the past decade Jonathan has sat on multiple boards. He currently sits on the Board of Israel21c remains and Showrunner Industries. He remains a Wolverine at heart through and through.
I GOT INTO THE ENTERTAINMENT BUSINESS BECAUSE…
I love storytelling and the ability to use Film/TV/Theater to evoke an emotional response, inspire an audience, or open people’s minds to something that did not know is super powerful!
THE MOVIE/BOOK/TV SHOW THAT INSPIRED ME MOST WAS…
Terms of Endearment, a small story with a huge impact about family, friendship, love, pushing thru adversity and how laughter even in the darkest moments can ease pain.
What I love most about what I do for a living is…
I love being part of a community where every day we can work with gifted creatives/colleagues to help bring stories from a simple idea to fully executed project.
My happy place is…
I have two happy places The Mountains of Park City and The Beaches of Tel Aviv. I feel very centered, open and at peace in both of these places.
ONE SONG FROM THE SOUNDTRACK OF MY LIFE WOULD BE…
There is a Hebrew Song “Or Gadol” which means “Big Light” It’s about living in the present and being self-reflective. I also love the melody. Everytime I hear it I slow down a little.
